In April 2000 it was brought to our attention that the Burton War Memorial desperately needed a lot of repair work ...

Burton2000 helped by raising over £600 towards the cost of the renovation. This was done by running a disco and a sponsored bike ride. We also offered 12 months of free advertising to any company in Burton who gave £500 or more to the memorial fund . Barron McCann Ltd (who both Arthur & Chris work for) were the first to come up with £500. The campaign was started and driven by Stan Deeming MBE and was a complete success with over £50,000 being raised. We also made a phone call to the BBC who covered the story along with the local newspapers. The following pictures tell the story of the restoration, the rededication and remembrance Sunday 2000. On behalf of Stan Deeming MBE we would like to thank all the many people & companies who gave money. We dedicate this gallery to all those who have lose there lifes fighting for their country and our freedom.
