The Claymills pumping engines, Claymills

Fully operational Sewage pumping station, restored by volunteers from the Claymills Pumping Engines Trust. This station was completed in 1885 and was in operation up until 1971. The site was listed (Grade 2*) and the fabric of the buildings repaired with help of funds from English Heritage and the owners Seven Trent Water. Beehive farm, Rosliston

Part of the new National Forest. Has lots to offer including: a tea room (fantastic breakfasts), craft units, cycle and horse riding trails, walks, caravan and camping site, animal corner, fishing lakes, free car and coach parking and much more. Many events, including medieval reinactments and country fairs are held most weekends throughout the summer. The Washlands, Burton

The Washlands lie between the Burton Bridge and the Leicester Line Railway Bridge. It is a oasis for wildlife and wild flowers. Managed by ESBC with plenty of sign posted walks and trails along the banks of the Trent and criss crossing the Washlands itself. It also has a trim trail and childrens playground with excellent parking on both sides of the river.
